Partnership in Action

The 2008 Chemistry World China lectures are held this year in conjunction with analytica China, and provide a forum for presentation and debate from UK and Chinese speakers on academic-industrial partnerships with some recent case studies described. Chemistry World China is published by the UK's Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) in conjunction with the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS) and the Chemical Industry & Engineering Society of China (CIESC), many of whose members receive the magazine for free. Chemistry World China reports on the latest advances in the chemical sciences, with a special section placing Chinese chemistry news in its global context. The accompanying annual lectures, this year with additional support provided by the Shanghai Society for Chemistry & Chemical Industry, extends this contextual approach with comparisons of partnerships in China with the global activities of the petrochemical company Shell.

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is the largest organisation in Europe for advancing the chemical sciences. Supported by a network of 44,000 members worldwide and an internationally acclaimed publishing business, including journals such as ChemComm, Journal of Materials Chemistry, Soft Matter and The Analyst, our activities span education and training, conferences, science policy and the promotion of chemical sciences to the public.

The Chemistry World China Lecture will take place on the 24th of September from 3pm -5pm in the conference room M18 in hall E2.

The program will be following:
