Sino-German Symposium on Chromatography at analytica China 2008
analyticachina.com
For the first time ever, the Sino-German Symposium on Chromatography is being held at the same time as analytica China, i.e. from September 23 – 25, 2008. The symposium is being organized by the Sino-German Research Group for Separation and Analysis of Complex Samples. Prominent German and Chinese scientists who specialize in the field of chromatography will report on the latest developments in science and research.

During anayltica 2008, the symposium, which alternates each year between Germany and China, will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) in Shanghai (Pudong), China. Approximately 15 German and 25 Chinese scientists are expected to attend. The series of lectures will be accompanied by a poster exhibition that illustrates topics related to the field of chromatography.

The People's Republic of China is the world's second-largest consumer of chemical products, after the United States, and the third most important production location, after the United States and Japan. The industry expects medium-term growth of 15-20% per year. By 2015, China will be the largest sales market and production location in the world(1). With a few exceptions, supply is not sufficient to cover demand in most segments. There is a great deal of pressure to launch new projects. In many segments, companies from Germany are ahead of those from other countries.
