analytica China will open its gates for the fourth time from September 23 – 25, 2008. Right now the countdown is on for national pavilions – and that includes the joint exhibit from Germany. In 2006, some 43 manufacturers of analysis, laboratory-technology and biotechnology equipment had registered to be part of a joint exhibit to present their products and solutions to the Chinese public and to make new contacts and intensify existing ones.
Besides the German Pavilion, the Spanish analysis sector will be represented as well as that of Great Britain.
In addition to India and Brazil, China has one of most rapidly growing economies in the world. However, although economic growth is associated with advantages such as increasing prosperity among a larger percentage of the population, it also has its problems. For example, environmental protection is the focus of increased public attention in China. Industrialization has had a detrimental effect on water, soil and air quality. And against the backdrop of the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, World Expo 2010 in Shanghai and growing tourism, the Chinese government is placing a great deal of importance on environmental-protection measures. That, in turn, is driving the market for analysis and laboratory equipment.
As people's purchasing power increases, so do their healthcare expenditures. Production of pharmaceuticals in China is currently growing at an annual rate of some 17 to 20 percent, which is considerably higher than the global average of some 13 percent. That, too, is increasing demand for equipment and know-how in the laboratory-technology sector. According to some analysts, by the year 2010 China will be the fifth largest market for pharmaceutical products after the United States, Japan, Germany and France. That means lucrative sales potential, especially for companies that offer high-end solutions for analysis, laboratory technology and biotechnology. And analytica China is the exhibition platform that can open the door to this dynamic, rapidly growing market.
Up till now there are eight exhibitors within the British Pavilion at analytica China 2008.
